Nancy Weiss, one of the founding members of the Alliance for Citizen Directed Supports who also co-founded the National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities with Steven Eidelman, is now resigning from her role at the Leadership Consortium. Nancy Weiss has worked for over forty years to transform the disability field. The Leadership Consortium was the first organized effort in the field dedicated to developing the next generation of disability agency leaders who are passionate about inclusion and self-direction. Their alumni apply their leadership skills to assure better lives for people with disabilities and their families.

In Nancy’s words, “I am saddened by how little supports for people with disabilities have changed since I began to work in this field in the 70s. That is why I will continue to work with the Alliance for Citizen Directed Supports, because it is an organization that has members with disabilities, family members, and people who work in the field, all united behind a common vision. The Alliance serves as a catalyst toward making quality lives and meaningful community inclusion a reality for all.”

We are so very grateful for Nancy’s advocacy, expertise, and continued dedication to the Alliance’s mission.
